Brave like Gabe Virtual 5K

GFAC is taking on rare cancer by teaming up with Brave Like Gabe! The club will be meeting at Red Fox Outfitters on Sunday May 5th at 4 pm to hit the streets together.

Stick around after the run and keep the celebration rolling with a pint of Blake’s El Chavo at The Rough Draught coffee & barroom. Snag a logo pint glass and other swag! First pint is on Blake's Hard Cider Co.!

What does it mean to run a virtual 5k:
Your race kit will be mailed to you and you'll receive instructions for how to run the Brave Like Gabe 5k from anywhere in the world.

Race kit includes:
-Premium cotton/poly limited edition race t-shirt

-Complete your dedicated run by June 2, National Cancer Survivors Day, but joining our club run on May 5 will be way more fun!
-Post your run on social media with hashtags, #bravelikegabe5k2019, #bravelikegabe5k, or #1224campaign
-Instructions for how to join the Strava Challenge for Brave Like Gabe Virtual 5k will be posted in April. Window for the Strava Leaderboard for the 5k is May 5 - May 12.


Why: To continue the club mission of health, wellness, community, charity, and fun. This Virtual 5k Race raises money for Rare Cancer Research and supports a hero in our sport, Gabe Grunewald. Learn more about Gabe and her foundation here:

"Gun" goes off 4 pm sharp, so please arrive early enough to be ready to run from the Red Fox parking lot at 4 pm. Since this is a virtual 5k there is no check in, but we will have the GFAC Tent set up outside the store.

Park in the surrounding community lots to leave ample room for Red Fox customers to park as the store will be open for business. Here is a map of city parking options:

We will be following the Subdivision Loop which starts and finishes at Red Fox and follows much of the Block Party 5k route:
