a classic 4 miler route. has a little of everything - pavement, dirt, and relatively flat. Also has easy access to seven lakes state park and dauner haus trail system for those trail dogs wanting to get some extra-curricular activities along the route.
Just as the name implies - this is a bread and butter route in any half-marathon, marathon, or high mileage program. professional runner noah droddy has been quoted as saying this was a “nice” route when he was given a tour in advance of crim 2017. it has some rolling hills that are manageable, but build steel in the legs.
all pavement - good, short loop with easy ability to add or subtract distance, mostly follows right-away in a low-traffic residential area. there are potholes galore though (welcome to michigan), so watch your ankles.

lightning fast, almost all paved, neighborhood loop that follows much of the block party 5k route
a good option for those that would like to keep things flat, and in town. The industrial section in fenton is a relatively low-traffic area with options to take the run in multiple directions
run the infamous truck road - a paved, former trucking road that is now the public-accessible freedom recreation trail. Easy way to throw some woods and a hill or two into a standard downtown route.
test your mile speed or run this as a short add on to any run. Perfect for beginners that need an accessible route with turn-offs or add-ons available. Also a square so that is nice for navigation.
run alongside the majestic scenery (unless it’s may-june, in which case, the pond-scummy scenery) that is the fenton mill pond. the water’s edge condo community is a great little paved loop with add-ons available, low-traffic, and filled with friendly fenton folk who may or may not wave and shout “good job guy/girl” as you fly on by
make sure to wear your climbing shoes - this beautiful, dirt-road route has rolling hills galore. Perfect for marathon training or anyone who wants to become invincible
